Our beloved Sister Dolores Celestine of the Sacred Heart

(Dolores Celestine Bailey) has peacefully entered into the

Presence of Our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 31, 2016,

after a long illness.  Sister Dolores had been a Religious for 72 years,

with the first 27 years as a Salesian Sister and 45 years as a

    Contemplative Carmelite Nun.

She was a very joyful and loving Sister.  Gifted with many talents,

Sister had used them to serve her Community with much love, prayers

and sacrifices offered for the Church and Missionaries.

"These years at Carmel have been very special ones for me.

Community, manual labor, silence, solitude and prayer

bring one to an ever-deeper depth of the spiritual life,

with special joys only God can give."   Sister Dolores Celestine

Eternal Rest grant unto her, O Lord,

And let Perpetual Light shine upon her.

    May She Rest in Peace.

Our beloved Sister Mary Gabriel of the Trinity

(Barbara Ann Reardon) peacefully entered into the

Presence of Our Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 12, 2018.

Sister Gabriel was born in San Francisco on May 28, 1926

and was baptized in the old Mission Dolores on June 22.

She lived there in the Bay area until

she entered Carmelon December 7, 1946.

In Sister Gabriel's 71 years in Carmel, she was always known

to be joyful and faithful in coming to community acts, especially being on time for the Liturgy of the Hours.

She filled many offices in Carmel: Prioress, Sacristan,

Novice Mistress, Laundress, Turn Sister, Secretary.

She took care of our dogs, even in her later years.

Since 2013, Parkinson's disease crippled Sister

and limited her activities, but never her love of reading.

She had been failing these last couple of months.

After a hospital stay of a few days, she came home

on hospice.  All of her Sisters in Carmel were

surrounding her with their prayers and singing songs

when she peacefully breathed her last.

God chose the special Feast of Saints Zelie & Louis Martin

(St. Therese's Parents) as Sr. Gabriel's birthday into Heaven!

"What a joy to think that in heaven we shall be reunited."
